Ginny was a dear, dear friend and I miss her terribly.  I have visited her sister, Connie, and her parents often, both in Florida and California.  Every year on her birthday, I write to her parents with some memories of our fun times in junior high and high school.  We had crushes on boys together, got in trouble together, and visited each other's colleges.  We got together often for years, even though we were on opposite sides of the country.  She was always fun and optimistic, even with her failing health.  She was diagnosed with diabetes in high school, and I was with her at the time.  It seems like yesterday that we sat on the curb across from (un-named) boyfriend-hopefuls' houses, hoping they would come out and swoop us up.  Alas, it never happened, but life went on and we had alot to talk about.

A bench on the Marin seashore has a plaque underneath it with Ginny's name.  I sat and watched the ocean from there.  Two years later, my son proposed to his girl-friend, and he described the location to me.  It was on Ginny's bench!  She has been gone from the earth many years, but her spirit lives on in our hearts.

We are all connected, and love is never lost.
