Elsie R Andersen

After working in the Elizabeth Public School District for 32 years, I retired in 2001. I have been living in Rowland, PA since 2002, in the former "summer" home owned by my parents. My daily activities include watching the wildlife in the area, quilting, sewing, reading and volunteering in local groups, including the Volunteer Fire Department, The Other Shop 2, a thrift shop run for the local hospital and assisting in other non-regular meeting activities as they need help. It is a grand life and I get paid to do it!

I wasn't the most outgoing individual in High School but I did get involved in the costume department for the G.O. show, "High Button Shoes". It was very interesting for me to try and plan the array of outfits for the stars as well as the all important back-up cast. And so many pairs of fake spats to make to fit over the shoes of the men in the cast to make them more decade appropriate! I guess this experience pointed me into my career field of Home Economics teacher and eventually Supervisor in Elizabeth. Aren't all teachers full of the actor to keep those kids entertained?!
