In Memory

Patricia C. Duffy (Ponzio)

Patricia C. Duffy (Ponzio)

Born 02/28/46 in Summit, NJ to John & Josephine Duffy. Patricia graduated from Summit Highschool, then earned her R.N. at Newark Beth Israel. She began her professional career at Overlook Hospital in Summit and flourished over her 30-year tenure as a nurse. Lending her skill and personality to many departments, Patty’s presence within the workplace was unmatched. Through her extensive healthcare knowledge and innate ability to comfort others, she helped thousands of patients under her care.

After marrying her high school sweetheart, Nicholas, Patty began to build what she lovingly referred to as her ‘beautiful family.’ Patty and Nick were considered by many to be the perfect match. They were a true Love Story for the ages. Together their shared love of travel took them around the globe with several stops in Italy. At home, this power unit created a strong family bond with ideal values and unconditional love and support. Leading by example, they lovingly raised two children and spoiled 4 grandchildren.

Patty was an example of excellence as a wife, mother and friend. So many were drawn to her overflowing kindness, humor and engaging personality that her circle of close friends grew to rival that of a small city. The line between friends and family was always blurred and her door always open for a visit and a cup of tea.

The world has lost an angel.

Patricia Ponzio is survived by her loving children. Daughter Sarah (John), son Josh (Kerri) &
grandchildren, Brooks, Amelia, Tatum & Maeve & sister Clare Vardalis.
